We did a quick color exercise to get started.

Each member of the class chose a color scheme for their "Spring Collection" and then discussed the color relationships and what kind of moods or feelings the colors evoked for them.
Next we discussed color, white balance, and color relationships.
Lastly, we went over the material from the Terry Barrett readings on description and interpretation.

We started with written responses to questions on index cards. Students then went around the room and read the responses choosing to agree, disagree or elaborate on the statements made on the index cards as a jumping off point for discussion.
We also looked at several example images and practiced our description and interpretation skills, building vocabulary for how to talk about photographs.
